Llantarnam Grange Art Centre’s Exhibition Officer, Hannah Kelly will be holding an “in conversation” with exhibiting artist Becky Adams. They will be discussing themes and motivations behind the work, influences and the making process. Hannah Kelly has written the essay for the publication (with an introduction by Phillip Hughes, Director of the Ruthin Craft Centre) that accompanies the exhibition. The in conversation will reference the themes explored in her essay. |

Exhibiting Artist Virginia Head will be giving an informal artist talk on her work and the importance of drawing while exploring the role of the found object within her practice. |

Becky Adams’ work is a recollection of past experience and contemplates themes of memory, souvenir and the preservation of what could otherwise be lost. Using stitched paper, vintage fabric, sketchbook and antique ephemera she creates intricate paper and book works. Using your own memories and sources of inspiration you will create a lotus fold book that can be used as a book, unusual purse or keepsake for a personal memory. A selection of collected materials, fabrics and vintage finds will be provided. Please bring your own source of inspiration such as a photograph, postcard, souvenir, piece of jewellery or fabric to base your book around and any of your own finds that you would like to incorporate.
