STONE - PLATE - GREASE - WATER - INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY LITHOGRAPHY

A celebration of lithography showing 64 artists from 12 countries, aimed at determining current practise in contemporary printmaking. Demonstrating both versatility and diversity by presenting lithographs conceived using many different techniques and approaches. Artists whose interests vary from the figurative, landscape, portraiture and still life to the illustrative and more abstract. For the uninitiated, lithography involves preparing blocks of limestone, drawing with greasy crayons and ink, processing the result using chemicals, gum and acid. A magical process that provides an opportunity for mark making that is wholly unique.
