Kickstart Scheme: Learning Assistant (25 hrs p/week)

Purpose of the job
The Learning Assistant would be directly responsible to the Senior Education Officer supporting them and the Education Assistant in the planning, preparation and delivery of participatory activities/workshops. (Our activities include art and craft classes for children, young people and adults).
Who can apply?
Young people aged 16-24 years old, who are unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.
Pay:
National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant)
National Living Wage (23+): £8.91
National Minimum Wage (21-22): £8.36
National Minimum Wage (18-20): £6.56
National Minimum Wage (under 18): £4.62
How to apply
First, talk to your work coach in your local Job Centre. A work coach will talk to you about Kickstart.
Your work coach will then refer you for the position, pending your suitability and availability.

Important dates:
You will need to be referred by your work coach by 5pm, 5 August 2021 Make sure that you ask your work coach about this in plenty of time.
The placement will start following interviews w/c 9 August 2021 and run for 6 months, with the possibility of extension, pending funding for the scheme.

Cafe Casual Staff
We are always looking for experienced, part time, casual staff for our in house cafe. Please contact us for more information.
Volunteers
As a registered charity LGAC is always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers who may be able to contribute one or more days a week to the centre. For suitable candidates there are a number of roles which we have to offer including:

Assisting with workshops

Gallery assistant helping set up and dismantle exhibitions

Cafe assistant - learning and contributing towards the running of the cafe

Gardening support - helping tend our extensive grounds and lawns

General DIY in and around the building

Other administrative and marketing roles
