Jewellery Showcase

Jewellery Showcase

26 March 2016 until 14 May 2016

Leoma uses saw piercing, shape forming and stone setting creating beautiful wing inspired jewellery. Leoma incorporates motifs with solid shapes and stone setting for an abstract and contemporary aspect. The black and white effect is contrasted with bright and unusually cut stones that complement each other perfectly.

Leoma’s wearable jewellery and objects are influenced by each other and these pieces represent sentimentality which is enhanced by the intimacy created between object and body.

Oriel Cafe Gallery

Oriel Cafe Gallery

26 March 2016 until 14 May 2016

Jantien loves to paint life as she see it around her, the beautiful Welsh countryside, the hill farms and their inhabitants, as a farmers daughter, these are the things that are dear to her.

She paints mostly in acrylics but also loves to use collage and texture to add depth and layers to a painting. She cuts out relevant newspaper articles, sales reports from the cattle markets, images or text that she can weave into her paintings so that the viewer keeps finding new information, a name, a price, maybe a photograph that you might not notice at first. Not only does it add beautiful layers to a painting but it also adds an interesting marker in terms of dates and places that are included.
